I’ve heard many good reviews about Freshness Burger and that it was a “more pricey Mos Burger”. I didn’t know it was so good till I tried it with the boyf!

I let him decide what to order for us. I wasn’t very hungry so we just ordered a set meal to try.

Burger was wrapped in Mos Burger style (exposed burger). Even the wrapper is so nice!

I have no idea what this drink is called. Some specialty I guess but it’s so freaking good!

Our juicy burger! I like how they use really fresh ingredients (living up to their name Freshness) and thick tomato slices and big pieces of lettuce. Far cry from any other fast food chains.

Fries were relatively good, nothing much to comment about. But I’m definitely trying other burgers soon!

Chanced upon this little eating place on a weekday with boyf dearest. Decided to give it a try because we’re fond of exploring new food places.

Boyf’s must order item: Vietnamese coffee.

He’s such a fan of Vietnamese coffee that he bought this special coffee filter from Trung Nguyen Coffee (at Heeren) and make his own cup everyday.

Boyf’s dish: Sliced beef with beef ball noodle soup. Very flavorful bowl of pho!
Pho Bo Vien Nam
Price: S$9

Mine is pork macaroni. It doesn’t look too special but the gravy they used for the macaroni is superb max! So rich and flavorful yet I can’t point a finger as to what it tastes like. Good stuff!
Nuoi Xao
Price: S$9

For just $9 per dish, I think it’s very affordable given that the people in the restaurant are Vietnamese and I’m sure the chef is too! Great authentic food 😀

Met my girlfs for a quick simple dinner at Bedok Point. We heard there’s lots of food places at this mall, hence decided to give it a try. But instead of stepping into a new restaurant, we decided on the good old Sushi Tei. Hahaha probably will give other shops a chance next time!

Heard lots of raves about this place and I finally got to try it! Not a big fan of buffet ‘cos I don’t eat alot, hence not worth the money. But this place serves really good xiao long baos, and shabu shabu pork. We went for the earliest slot at 5pm-8pm, and it was about $27nett per pax. Let the pictures do the talking!

Boyf and I used to eat the mini steamboat at Arts Canteen (the szechuan stall), but ever since it was taken over by someone else, we’d praying that a new stall would offer mini steamboat.

Imagine our delight when we realised that Business Canteen (the beijing stall) now has them too!

Sad to say, their standard is way below the previous one. Even though priced at only $5 with lots of ingredients, I doubt we will ever patronise them again. Food quality was compromised, really yucky ingredients. Pale in comparison to the szechuan stall.

Fish cakes not fresh, a tad sour in my opinion. But boyf said it was ok. And the brown fungus-looking thing tasted horrible!

I love soup so the boyf suggested we had dinner at Soup Spoon! It’s a wonder why this is only my second time at Soup Spoon considering how much I love soup!

Anyway, we had Beef Goulash, topped up to a set meal. Consisting of the soup, a half sandwich and a drink. I must say the price is on the high side considering the portion isn’t very big.

Beef Goulash – prime beef cut stewed with the infamous paprika and loaded with starchy vegetables to make it a meal in itself (quoted from soup menu).

Smoked Ham & Cheese (half sandwich) – Smoked Ham, Cheddar Cheese, Green Salad, Honey Mustard Mayo (quoted from their sandwich menu).

Price: $12.70 nett

P/s. pardon the lousy photos; I’m still learning how to take nice food photos especially those in bowls! /:

Dinner with boyf’s family at our favourite restaurant. We’ve tried it a few times here, and I’ve decided to do a review. Seriously, this place deserves all the thumbs-up it can get!

First up is the Xiao Long Bao, which, imo, is very very good. Must try!
Price: $4.50 for 5 pieces

Next, Salted Egg Cucumber. Hmmm, I love salted egg with anything. So tasty and fragrant!
Price: $8.00

Three Cups Chicken. If I’m not wrong, three types of wine were used for this dish, hence the name. The gravy is absolutely TDF (to die for)!!
Price: $10.80

Braised Beef Noodles Soup. Quite average.
Price: $6.80

Chives Pancake. Omg this is another TDF dish!! Look, even before I had time to take a picture, 3 pieces were snapped up. The pancake comes piping hot and absolutely crispy. Even if you dislike chives (some find it smelly), you should still try this!
Price: $6.80

Beijing Siew Mai. Average too.
Price: $4.00

For dessert, we had redbean pancake. This was also average but it came crispy and hot, so it was quite good!
Price: forgot to note!

Like the tasty food is still not enough to tempt you, this place has no service charge! Awesomesauce! 😀 But note the 30 cents napkin charge (as per most Chinese restaurants).

Met up with my ex-colleagues for dinner at Prego. There were about 8 of us so we requested for the tables to be joined. Initially they were hesitant but one of the senior staff (or maybe Supervisor/ Manager) immediately brought 2 tables together. And even arranged them nicely so as not to block the walkway. Thumbs up for service!

Within minutes after we were seated, they served bread with olive oil and Prego sauce. Super yums! If I’m not wrong, it’s 2 persons to 1 bread. I like how the bread is still warm and soft on the inside.

Here’s what we ordered. I didn’t get to try everything so I can only give comments on what I ate.

Calamari ($26.00)
Crispy calamari with tartare sauce. I personally felt that it was very average. Could probably find nicer ones elsewhere.

Parma Ham & Melon ($27.00)
Parma ham with rock melon and balsamic figs. I’ve never tried parma ham before so I’m not sure how it should taste like. I only know that it was super salty! Didn’t like it.

Puree Patate ($12.00)
Mashed potato was quite bland. So far I haven’t found my favourite mashed potato yet so this is average.

Tagliolini Neri Gamberoni ($32.00)
Squid ink tagliolini with prawns, in tomato sauce. I love squid ink pasta but I would prefer it without tomato sauce. I think the sauce was too flavourful that it covered the pasta taste. My friend dislikes the seafood-y aftertaste though. You really gotta try it to like (dislike) it! Anyway I prefer the one from Domani.

Lasagne al Forno ($28.00)
Oven-baked pasta layered with beef. This is awesome! Must try!

Agnolotti Salsa Leggera ($28.00)
Stuffed pasta with beef. Omg this was sooooo yummy! I didn’t regret ordering this even though the portion was relatively small. Maybe about 10 pieces of stuffed pasta? But it’s really good. Love the mushroom sauce too. Must try!

Linguini Marinara ($29.00)
Linguini with seafood in tomato sauce. Not bad, I kinda enjoyed this too.

Malloreddus Campidanese ($28.00)
Gnocchetti pasta served with pork sausage sauce. It’s quite below average so you can skip this.

Spaghetti Arrabbiata ($22.00)
I couldn’t find the photo for this one, sorry!

PZ Bona e Buona ($26.00)
Not sure if this is turkey pizza but the meat was tough! The only thing I like is the thin biscuit-like crust but I heard there are better ones out there. So, average pizza!

Merluzzo al Forno ($36.00)
I’m guessing this is fish. Didn’t get to try this, sorry!

Tried Wendy’s with boyf for the first time. And it was so disappointing. Firstly, we couldn’t find seats. The restaurant was so small and squeezy. Even the cashier area was super small, you can’t line up in queue properly -.-

Anyway I shouldn’t complain about the seats because it was dinner time. So in the end we decided to take away. We ordered the 1/2 Pound Double Thick Meal with Cheese ($7.95) and added 50cents for medium upsize.

Sorry I didn’t take a picture of the unwrapped burger, but it looks like an ordinary burger. Patty was hard and dry, totally not nice at all! Fries was quite bad too. I’m sure fries at anywhere else taste nicer. The only consolation was baked potato. In fact it was pretty good! 😀

$3.10 for the Sour Cream and Chives one.

Total bill was only $10.55 because they had a $1 off combo offer. Not sure if it’s because of the new outlet opening.

Sisters decided to have steamboat at Sukiya for Christmas gathering this year. Recommended by sis N ‘cos she loves the beef here.

You can choose between Beef, Pork, or Chicken. Since we had 4 pax, we ordered a set of each first. Sliced meat for shabu shabu. Awesome! And I must comment that the beef here is good! (:

As usual, there’s always half a pot of spicy soup, another half non-spicy. After all the meat and veggie, each person was also allowed one serving of soft serve ice-cream. I don’t particularly like it cos the ice-cream melts really quickly and tastes like diluted Milo. Yucks.

Paid about $25.50 per pax.
